Nose Derived Aroma

Keep Calm and Slurp**Sluuuuuurp**

So you’ve seen coffee drinkers do it, and if you are honest it looks pretty dodgy. It is certainly an easy mark of a coffee snob. And yet there is a method to their madness.

The action of slurping breaks up the liquid of the coffee, aerating and vaporising it, mixing with any of the remaining gasses trapped in the liquid. This mix of organic compounds can then make better contact with your palate and express more of the caramelized sugars from the coffee. As it is the sugars that you’ll likely be tasting, the biggest impact will come from the degree of which the coffee has been roasted.
