I believe I just have one of the closest coffees possible to a salted caramel chocolate tart. The syrupy, chocolate intensity was something that developed with each sip. While it is hard to put a finger on it, I get a tinge of an almond base in this coffee “tart” as well. It has a pleasant and lingering after-taste, slightly acidic, but not winey or aggressive.
Starting the day with a dessert seems to suggest that perhaps I either need to go back for more, or perhaps reverse into a different flavour experience. All up, the Rainha Estate coffee proved to be a very interesting and rich coffee.
