What I’ve been drinking – Ethiopian Bokasso

Dropping into one of my favourite cafes in Sydney, Salvage Specialty Coffee, I was sold on the idea of having Bokasso 3 ways. I am a massive fan of having the same coffee in multiple methods as it generally draws out different aspects of the coffee.

It seems however that the flavour profile for the Mecca Bokasso has changed somewhat, and the balance of jasmine and earl grey seems to have tipped too far to the earl grey side.

As an espresso, the earl grey certainly was up front, and the mouth feel was a little less smooth than I remember, but there was a touch of spice and wood in the after taste that made it enjoyable.

Then trying it as a pour over, the earl grey was overwhelming. It was still an interesting experience, but it would have been nice if the flavours were either better balanced, or the different bru methods highlighted the range of flavours.
