Edit: Can no longer recommend this cafe as they’ve switched to Vittoria

On my usual #coffeehunt I was seeking out new cafes to review and low and behold… a brand new cafe appeared before my eyes. Only freshly opened Monday (4 days ago), I am sure that these guys are still finding their feet, but for their location and general vibe ATM, I think they have made a good start.

More interesting is that they are using a coffee I have not seen before. “Batch – Specialty Coffee Blenders” is so new in fact the only thing I could find about them online was a LinkedIn page for their director… but that aside, the result was quite interesting. If I had to draw comparisons, it is very similar to a Golden Cobra coffee. Still industrial, still a little dark, but not aggressively so. No burnt rubber taint in the espresso was a great sign.

Obviously I suggested they also get a medium to light roast for the black coffee drinkers, but come on… it is only their 4th day, so I should go a little easy.

Location wise I think that thee guys will get popular fast. They’ve chosen a part of George St that does not have many good options for coffee.

While I would not travel here especially for the coffee, with the seats inside being quiet and comfortable, and the service friendly, they have certainly ticked a lot of boxes.
