The Source - Mosman
It has been quite a while since I last came all the way out here to try coffee so I thought it was over due. This cafe ticks a lot of boxes. They roast in house, they serve single origin beans, and they also serve AeroPress coffee. They are also very popular with the locals, so all in all, for this area, they have a great thing going.

When it came to my coffees today however, I was under-whelmed. The Sumatran single origin from Lintong I had as an AeroPress and it tasted watery, weak and unworthy of the $5 price. Likely I was just unlucky, but I said that last time I was here, so maybe it is just me…?

The Costa Rica single origin (from the La Pira farm) was much better, but the double rist tasted over-expressed and bitter. While I expected it to be bold, the lingering taste in my mouth suggest that perhaps the beans were over roasted. Some of the brightness remained however, so it was not a total loss, but it wasn’t brilliant.

So… what can I say… they have friendly service, and are very popular with the locals. They roast their own coffee, and care enough to give great options to their customers. I just wish the delivery was a little better. If you are in the area this is still a good option (possible one of the better ones), but I would not suggest going out of your way to get here.

No public WiFi available.
No #powerwhoring available (visible)
Parking behind the cafe makes this easier to get to than other cafes in the area.
