Starting a little under-whelmed with the previous filter coffee I was looking forward to being rejuvenated with an awesome espresso. Unfortunately this too kind of had me umm-ing and ahh-ing. While it started well with a delicious looking crema, a buttery feel and a slight tart berry, by the end of the shot my face puckered up and I had felt like I’d had a shot of lemon juice. An overpowering whack of citrus was not really what I was looking for.
On the positive side of things, I love that Sample keep pushing the limits and are in it for the excitement of new and interesting coffee, I just think I missed the boat on this in house Los Planes Pacamara varietal. No matter, there is always the next boat. 🙂
