Whether it is cupping in the alley (sounds less caffeinated than it is), a degustation coffee breakfast for special events, or their end of year shin dig where a band jumps on the back of a Fracks truck and provides the background for a feat of food and coffee, these guys have had coffee on the brain.
As an example, today I am starting off with a pour over of Kenya Karimikui and it is served in a stunning looking glass container. Sure, some people don’t like glass much, but being able to pour small amounts into my cup allows me to experience the difference in flavours and aromas multiple times as the coffee cools and opens up. In this case the coffee starts off with a heavy floral aroma which is then pushed aside by a mix of subtle date and the pineapple dry acidity on the sides of my tongue. As it cools down I started to get a ribena whack of blackcurrents. The only thing I didn’t much like was the after taste which, thanks to the pineapple acidity left my tongue feeling overly dry.
So if you are in the area and are looking for someone who knows what to do with syphon coffee, has multiple single origins on offer, and are constantly roasting new seasonal coffees….. then you should drop by.
