Coffee: Pablo & Rusty
Passion: 8/10
Crema: 8/10
The coffee I had today was a Guatemalan (Santa Clara) single origin espresso, and while interesting, it kind of under delivered. Really struggled to pick up many of the flavours from the tasting notes (like plum, caramel, and pear) , but could understand why they would associate the light bright notes as red apple (non-sweet).
As the cup cooled down I also managed to smell a very light whiff of peanut brittle, but it was not a strong aspect of this coffee. While it is all part of the journey, really like to get coffees (especially the single origins) to push the boundaries a little. Perhaps cafes could have a single of the day and suggest how it could best be experienced? Just a thought.
Over all, this is a great cafe for the area. It is comfortable, the service is friendly and it is convenient. It is a shame about the power socket though, as that was one of the main draw cards for this cafe.
